Terms of service

Curbcut checks the pages of your online store for a set of common accessibility problems, keeps a dated record of what it checked and what it found, and turns that record into a public statement page and a report you can share. That is the whole product.

Curbcut does not fix accessibility problems for you, does not modify your theme or add anything to your storefront, and does not give legal advice. It does not certify compliance with the ADA, WCAG, the European Accessibility Act, or any other standard, and nothing it produces should be presented as if it did.

Our checks look at the code your pages deliver, and they find a subset of problems. They do not check colour contrast, keyboard navigation, focus order, or anything that only appears once a page is running. A result with nothing flagged does not mean your store is accessible. Only testing with real people using assistive technology can tell you that.

Nothing here reduces your own legal obligations, and no tool — including this one — can prevent a complaint or a lawsuit.

You need a Shopify store you are authorised to administer. You are responsible for what you publish on your accessibility statement page, for how you describe your accessibility efforts to anyone else, and for keeping your contact details current so we can reach you.

The free page checker is for checking stores you own or have permission to check. Do not use it to hammer someone else's site.

Every charge runs through Shopify Billing and appears on your regular Shopify invoice. We never see or store your payment details.

Growth is $19 per month and Pro is $49 per month, charged by Shopify every 30 days until you cancel. Reports are $299 each as a one-time charge. Growth includes one report in any twelve-month period; Pro includes as many as you need. Buying a report never uses up the one included with your plan.

Uninstalling Curbcut cancels the subscription. Shopify does not prorate part-months, so you keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email; a price change never applies to a period you have already been billed for.

Subscriptions: if you are unhappy within 14 days of your first payment on a plan, email us and we will refund that payment in full, no questions asked.

Reports: a report is generated and delivered immediately, so it is not returnable once you have it. If a report fails to generate, arrives incomplete, or you were charged twice, email us and we will refund it in full. If you bought a report by mistake and have not opened it, tell us within 7 days and we will refund it.

Refunds are issued through Shopify. Email support@curbcut.site and we will reply within two business days.

Your record and your reports are yours. We email you a copy of every report when it is created, and you can download your issue history as a spreadsheet at any time on Growth and Pro.

When you uninstall, Shopify asks us to delete your store's data about 48 hours later, and we do — checks, findings, issue history and reports. Before that happens we email your complete record to your contact address as an attachment. Keep it: if you reinstall afterwards, your history starts again from the reinstall date. We aim to keep Curbcut running and checks arriving on schedule, but we do not promise uptime, and scheduled checks can be delayed by Shopify rate limits, your store being unreachable, or maintenance on our side. A missed check is recorded as a missed check — we never fill a gap with an assumption that everything was fine.

Curbcut is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or the cost of any legal claim brought against you. Our total liability for any claim relating to Curbcut is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You can uninstall Curbcut from your Shopify admin at any time, for any reason. We may suspend or end an account that abuses the service, that uses the free checker against sites it has no business checking, or that presents Curbcut's output as a compliance certification. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and we each consent to that jurisdiction.

If we change these terms we will update the date above and email installed merchants about anything material at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use Curbcut after a change means you accept it.
